The purpose of the visit was to inspect the implementation of the strategic plan document of the Council with the aim to discuss on how to close the gap between Local Councils and the Government through support . The notion is to have a plan that will align with the national development plan and to see development happen and move the country to another level.
The CEO of the Council Mr paa Sait Ceesay thank the two ministries for the visit. CEO Ceesay disclosed to them that the tariff the Council is using should be revived and without that it will be difficult to plough back the 60 percent to the tax payers.
The team urged the Council to convene a donors conference meeting and present the strategic plan to potential donors and it should be collective action and visible.
The Chairman of the Council Mr Landing B Sanneh specifically thank the two ministries for visiting the Council. He reaffirmed to them that Council commitment towards the development of the Region and has assured them that Council’s doors are always opened.
The team together with the senior management of the Council visited the conference centre and the guest houses of the Council which is ongoing project in Mansakonko.
